How does factory machine data acquisition work? How does Advantech's MIC-18XX mini industrial PC get the job done?
Join Chuck this week as he chats with Sado Borcillo, iFactory Field Sales Engineer, about Industrial Automation in the Automobile Market. Hear as they chat about the current automotive market along with the current trends and concerns many have.
To comply with more stringent regulations of vehicles, auto part and component suppliers, leading automobile manufactures must adopt more comprehensive high-precision production, design and testing equipment. Advantech's high performance test and measurement solutions can fulfill a variety of testing requirements and conquer the harsh environment as well as the interface.

November 10, 2017, Cincinnati – In order to solve complex problems in IIoT application deployment as well as exploit its opportunities, Advantech (Taipei:2395) developed a deep learning architecture to help manufacturing, surveillance and healthcare customers develop and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their solutions.
Global Intelligent Systems leader Advantech has partnered with Mitsubishi Electric, Omron, NEC, IBM Japan and Oracle Japan to establish the "Edgecross Consortium" to overcome boundaries between companies and industries in order to realize collaboration between factory automation and IT. The objective is to create new centered new value centered on edge computing. The joint press conference to announce the establishment of the Edgecross Consortium was held on November 6, 2017, in Tokyo, Japan, and the establishment on the consortium is planned for November 29, 2017.
The evolution and proliferation of industrial automation and IIoT devices has created a wealthy of data sources. Effectively harnessing this data empowers end-users to make data-driven decisions and add value to any operation.
Advantech's Industrial Automation, Intelligent System and Network Computing business units hosted Advantech Solution Day: Accelerating Industry 4.0 with SKY Servers on October 26, 2017. The event was well attended by engineers, developers and business development leaders alike at Advantech's Silicon Valley offices and showroom. Attendees gave the event high marks in post-event reviews.

Industrial Servers & Storage,
There are more than one billion vehicles on the planet and the number keeps growing. Managing them all is an increasingly complex task, often requiring communication with vehicles that are nowhere near any central office. Fleet managers need to monitor OBDII data from vehicles that may be hundreds of miles away. First responders need two-way communications with dispatchers and databases. Governmental agencies must rack parameters like traffic density and road conditions from devices that are scattered all over their jurisdictions. Devices like traffic signage and parking machines need reliable links to their control centers, and it the installation includes video surveillance they will require good bandwidth as well. But in many cases, stringing cables out to the desired locations would be impractical or impossible.
